Our History and Legacy
Our story begins in 1965 when Mitsuhiko Yoshino, former chairman of Alpine Tour, achieved the first Japanese ascent of the Matterhorn’s north face. By 1969, he was organizing hiking tours to the European Alps, making these dream mountains accessible to Japanese travelers for the first time.
Since then, we have:
- Pioneered tours to remote mountainous regions worldwide, often being the first Japanese or even global operator to do so
- Introduced and popularized the concept of “trekking” in Japan, even registering it as a trademark before it became commonly used
- Established ourselves as a cornerstone of Japanese mountain tourism through decades of innovation
- Developed comprehensive tour offerings ranging from highland hiking to high-altitude trekking, backed by our extensive experience and expertise
Looking ahead, from 2025, we will expand our services to welcome international visitors, offering them the opportunity to experience Japan’s magnificent mountains, nature, and culture.
